CATALYST Shortlisted for Embry-Riddle University LEED- Platinum Business/Technology Center

PRESCOTT, AZ- CATALYST ARCHITECTURE was recently shortlisted for the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Applied Technology and Accelerator Building Project, out of an initial field of 26 firms.  Housed on the main Prescott campus of ERAU, the Applied Technology and Accelerator Building will be designed to fit within the parameters of the Business/Technology Park master plan.  According to ERAU, "the building will operate as an accelerator to assist new, startup businesses expand and grow in a technology environment" and will "promote and sustain skilled jobs creation, technology development, and economic growth."  The 10,000 square foot project is funded by a grant from the Economic Development Administration.  The building will be located on 5.2 acres of ERAU-owned property.  It is planned that the building will have approximately 20% common administrative space and 80% leasable office space.

ERAU has placed a premium on the participation of local firms and the use of local technical expertise.  CATALYST has assembled a top-notch Design Team to pursue the project, which draws on exemplary local talent and is augmented by qualified specialists who are regional leaders in their respective fields.  This collaborative team, with the ‘right stuff’ for this project, includes a number of firms with LEED-Platinum experience and represents an interweaving of previous collaborative relationships between team members.  The Team includes over forty qualified professional and three fully staffed architectural firms.

The LEED-Platinum seeking project is intended to be a regional paradigm of sustainability, healthy-living, conservation and technology, design principles for which CATALYST is well known.  As the architects of Yavapai County's first LEED-Gold building, and with principals Matt Ackerman and Jeff Zucker among the first LEED-Accredited architects in Yavapai County, CATALYST has proven its leadership in energy efficient design.  CATALYST's commitment to the local Prescott community is well established by our chairmanships on the Mayor’s 2050 Committee and the Yavapai County Sustainable Planning Committee, as well as ongoing community involvement stretching back over thirty years.
