Institute of Architects
Names CATALYST Volunteer Firm of the Month
PHOENIX, AZ-
The Grand
Canyon Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) recently
named
CATALYST ARCHITECTURE the Volunteer Firm of the Month for April.
CATALYST is honored to accept this recognition.
In keeping with the company's committment to Advocacy, Education, and Outreach (CATALYST_AEO), the firm has dedicated itself to continued involvement with the Arizona AIA, as well as many other local and regional volunteer efforts. Principal Jeffrey Zucker, LEED-AP AIA is currently serving his second year as president of the AIA Grand Canyon Chapter. Mr. Zucker's ongoing involvement with issues surrounding affordable housing includes his participation on the Prescott Mayor's 2050 Development/Smart Growth Committee. Principal Matthew Ackerman, LEED-AP AIA has served on the AIA Arizona Committee on the Environment (COTE), working diligently to assist in a recent Flagstaff tour of three LEED certified projects during EcoMonth. Mr. Ackerman is also Chair of the Prescott Mayor's 2050 Development/Smart Growth Committee, is currently chairing the Yavapai County Sustainable Planning Committee. Mr. Ackerman has been asked to serve on the newly formed City of Prescott Form-Based Code Committee. a background in Urban Design, Matthew
Ackerman, LEED-AP AIA brings over 20 years of design experience in
mixed-use, masterplanning, commercial, and custom residential
work. He is the current chair of the Yavapai County Sustainable
Planning Committee, and of the Grand Canyon AIA Chapter of COTE
(Committee
On The Environment). Mr. Ackerman is an Advisory Board member of
CAZREN (Central Arizona Renewable Energy Network), as well as of the
Yavapai College Construction Technology Committee. Mr. Ackerman
was the
first LEED accredited architect in Yavapai
County. |
