The Open Space Alliance of Central Yavapai County is busily preparing for our annual Earth Day Celebration. This year's event will take place on April 22nd from 11:00am to 4:00pm at Granite Creek Park in downtown Prescott. Please come and
enjoy live music, and children's
activities, and browse through dozens of informational
booths sponsored by local organizations. There will be
presentations by local school children and throughout
the day the community will collaboratively create an
art car out of recycled materials. The theme of this year's Earth Day Celebration is WATER. We hope to educate the community and encourage dialog on important topics such as water conservation, drought, water availability, water quality, and the dynamic features of our local watershed. There are a host of other events that are happening in conjunction with Earth Day this year. First of all, Pangaea bakery (220 Goodwin St.) will host a series of "Water Talks" throughout April. Click here for more information. Secondly, plans are shaping up for and environmental film festival that will happen the evening of April 22nd after the day time celebration at Granite Creek Park. Time and location to be announced. Please announce these events to friends and fellow members of your organization(s). If you did not receive an invitation to host a table at Earth Day and you would like to attend, please contact Ashley Fine at (928) 445-1264. For any other questions or comments concerning Earth Day events please contact Elizabeth Majors at serpentbird@peacemail.com or (208) 720-9704. LET'S CELEBRATE! |
