POKAGON CULTURAL CENTER
Draws Its Inspiration From The Tribe’s Ancestral Cultural Context
The 10,500 sq.ft. Pokagon Cultural Center, currently in design, will be constructed at Dowagiac, Michigan. The structure’s south-facing glass is designed to capture warmth, while earth-bermed north walls serve to shield the interior from unwanted heat loss. The design features a 66’ diameter main meeting room, classrooms, administrative space and a Healing Center. The facility will be used to teach the history, language, and ancestral skills of the Pokagan Band of Potawatomi Indians.
