Architect Jeffrey Zucker apprenticed under Paolo Soleri at Arcosanti in Arizona.  It is surprising that one of his first solo projects would be in the Ohio landscape; however, he managed to incorporate many efficient design elements into this temperate-climate home. 

The cabin, begun in 1976, is a passive-solar structure utilizing lots of circles in its design.  
    
The roof is literally draped from the mast of the chimney, over the circular spaces, and lifted around the perimeters.  The results are crescent-shaped windows with heavy brows.

The Stone House is a celebration of energy independence and also of the practical use of recycled materials.  Much of the wood used on the warm interior spaces was gleaned from
